Origin Of The Horse Trailer

It is said that vehicles that resembled the actual horse trailer were seen in the years that horses were used by the fire departments to pull their carriages. When to clean the horse trailer?

It is important for the maintenance of the trailer, to be cleaned it after every single trip, and in order to make it easier, is a good idea to keep always a bucket handy. Waste, especially urine, has to be cleared quickly, because if not the floor is going to get damaged overtime.

In case that the trailer is intended to transport several horses the procedure must be executed in each area individually.

When you start the job, the first thing to do is to withdraw the equipment from the trailer ,like tool kits, saddles, food bags and etc.

Then retire the floor cloth and wipe the flooring area with a solution of 10 parts of water per 1 of sterilizer to get rid of any malicious bacteria that could damage the health of the horses.

It is also good idea inspect all the junctions where different areas of the trailer meet each other, since these points are especially proclive to save leftovers and undesired substances.

Then when the chemical has done its job, park the trailer on a slope with the back part of it in the lower side of the area, so the liquid can drains completely. Rinse the area with a powerful water hose if possible, until there is no debris or materials on the surface of the trailer.

After the trailer is totally dried is useful to spread a good amount of baking soda to counteract the acidity of the horses’ urine.
